India Idol 13: Rani Mukerji Reveals Shah Rukh Khan Is Her Favourite Hero, Actress Gets Nostalgic Listening To Her Movie Songs
Rani Mukerji recently made an appearance at on the sets of Indian Idol 13, where contestants will be singing her iconic songs
Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji became an overnight sensation after her performance as Tina in Karan Johar’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. She became one of the most sought after actresses in the 90s and 2000s. She went on to become one of the highest paid actresses of her time. The actress, who is gearing up for the release of her upcoming movie Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway, recently recalled anecdotes from her past movies.
The actress was left nostalgic listening to the contestants of Indian Idol 13 belt out some of her iconic songs. She was left mesmerised by Bidipta Singh’s performance on 'Tumhi Dekho Na' from the movie Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and ‘Chup Chup Ke’ from the movie Bunty Aur Babli.Recalling working with Shah Rukh Khan in KANK, the actress revealed romance is her favourite genre of movies to work in. She went on to reveal that she loves working in romantic movies, especially with Shah Rukh Khan. Pinkvilla quoted her saying, “I've done a variety of films but my favourite genre is 'romance' and I enjoy doing romantic films with my hero; the one and only, Shah Rukh Khan.”
For the unversed, Rani and SRK have been a part of many iconic and blockbuster Bollywood movies like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Chalte Chalte, Veer Zaara, Paheli and many others. They have even done cameo roles in each others’ movies. Recalling shooting for the KANK song in New York, Rani revealed that she had to shoot for it during extreme cold. Since the song depicted romance through different seasons she had to shoot the rainy season part while only wearing a saree. She further added that they had trouble showing the rain since the cold weather would turn the water into ice. The actress also complemented Bidipta’s outfit and the scrunchie on her wrist reminded her of shooting Bunty Aur Babli with Abhishek Bachchan.
On the work front, Rani Mukerji was last seen in Bunty Aur Babli 2 alongside Saif Ali Khan, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh. She will be next seen in ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway,’ a movie based on the real-life case with Sagarika Bhattacharya, whose kids were taken away by the Norwegian Child Welfare Services on the grounds of improper treatment. Directed by Ashima Chibber the movie is set to release on March 17th.
